Horizontal scrolling – Website re-sizing/adjustment
-
Whenever I change the size of the window of my internet browser it re-sizes and moves things in the layout of my website. I would rather have everything stay in place and static, and a horizontal scroll bar pop up. This happens in Chrome, IE, and Firefox all the same. Any ideas? Using Hemingway Rewritten layout.

Most of the themes on WordPress.com is designed to be responsive, i.e. to rearrange themselves based on the screensize of the device used to view the site. If you don’t want that you’ll have to switch to one of the few themes that are still available that don’t have a responsive layout.
You might also be able to disable it using CSS, but you’ll need an upgrade for that.
You can post your question in the CSS customisation forum to find out if it would be possible and what code will be needed to make this change: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization#postform
