Horrible new format

I updated the WordPress version the other day and went to add to a blog post today.
The screen for my inputting is smaller, there’s no place to add media, linking doesn’t work. It’s a shitshow.
How do I go back to the old version?

It sounds like you’re trying to get help with a self-hosted WordPress.org site. This forum is strictly for WordPress.com hosted sites.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are a little separate, and that can be confusing.
You’ll want to use the forums at https://wordpress.org/support/ for any support on managing your site. Hope that helps to point you in the right direction!
