Horrible pop ups inside my dashboard and on my site – help!
-
I just started using this blog again and was doodling around with updates and changes. But something terrible happened. A popup for updating Adobe Flash came up, and clicked the download, and now my site is popping up full page spam ads for me while I’m working on the site! Then there is a strip of ads at the bottom of the screen popping up constantly. My pleasant day of posting some new content, changing my theme and in general getting back into the groove has come to a horrible standstill. What is happening and how do I make it stop?!?!

There are no text link ads and there are no pop-up ads placed by WordPress.com. Then can however appear to you as the result of a browser add-on or toolbar or downloading anything that has adware embedded into it.
All WordPress.com placed ads are easy to identify as this link accompanies them http://en.wordpress.com/about-these-ads/
Any other ads you see are not placed on the blog by WordPress.com. They are coming from a malware infected browser extension or toolbar. These sites have further explanation and suggestions for eliminating the ads: http://www.littletechiethings.com/2012/06/how-to-remove-ads-not-by-this-site.html http://blog.wikimedia.org/2012/05/14/ads-on-wikipedia-your-computer-infected-malware/ http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/09/14/bloggers-beware-of-adware/
