Hosted to Self Hosted

Going from wordpress.com to self hosting on wordpress.org. I want to host my own WordPress blog vs. have it hosted on .com. Will I lose anything that I’ve done already? Will I have to start over? (I want to be able to use plugins and I don’t think you can do that on .com.)
Thanks,
NancyThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

All of your content you can transfer over to WP.org by exporting and importing under Tools in the dashboard. Apart from that you’ll pretty much have to start over. Also note that a self-hosted site implies added responsibility on you for maintenance – something you don’t have to worry about on WP.com. See here for more information: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
You’ll need to buy a domain and hosting and download and install the WordPress.org software and a theme to that domain, along with any plugins you want to use. For assistance with that you’ll need to post in the WordPress.org forums as we can’t help you with that part here: http://wordpress.org/support/ (If you don’t already have a username on that forum, click the register button in the upper right corner so you can post in that forum.)
Once you have that site up and running you can then transfer your content from your wp.com site to the wp.org site by following the instructions here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org
To move your subscribers over to the new blog you’ll have to install the Jetpack plugin. Instructions here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/#wordpress-com-to-self-hosted-site
You can also have staff do this whole process for you by purchasing a Guided Transfer. See: http://support.wordpress.com/guided-transfer/
Lastly you might want to consider setting up a Site Redirect so visitors to your wp.com site automatically get redirected to your new self-hosted site: http://support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/
