  I’m looking into hosting options and have become confused! I’m using the free version of WordPress – does that mean that WordPress are already ‘hosting’ my site?

  Hi There,

  Could you please provide more details on whether you are using WordPress open-source software or using the WordPress.com platform to create website? WordPress comes in three flavours:-

  1) Fully hosted with WordPress.com
  2) WordPress.com with an upgraded plan, like our Business Plan that allows a lot of self-hosted functionality, like plugins and custom themes->no other host required
  3) the self-hosted version, whose software is available for free at WordPress.org. This requires purchasing hosting with another provider, such as Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc. and installing WordPress software on it.
