Hosting
-
Hello,
I am new to this and although I may already know the answer to this, I am still unsure. I already own a domain and would like to create a WordPress website. I see there is a plan for $2.99 that allows me to use my own domain. My question is this, would my site be hosted under/through WordPress (wordpress.com) or do I need to look for hosting elsewhere?Thank you,
MikeThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

WordPress.com don’t currently accept incoming domain transfers but if you already own a domain and continue paying for it there then you can map that domain to WordPress.com by using the domain credit you would be provided by upgrading to the Personal plan (which is $35.88 per year paid in advance).

Thank you for that @themagicrobot, would you know if my site once created would be hosted through wordpress.com or would I need to look for another place that will host me?

You’ve already got a free site hosted here at WordPress.com. Upgrading to the Personal plan would just give you various useful stuff like upgraded storage, access to live chat support with the Happiness Engineers (rather than me!) and that domain credit to help you lose the WordPress.com at the end of your address. You would need to keep paying for your domain name at wherever that may be.

Thank you, I believe you answered my questions excellently. I appreciate your assistance.
