Hosting

I am very new to the whole hosting and website building in general.
My Question:
I purchased a template from ProPhoto and uploaded it into wordpress.org and tried to launch my website. I was told that WordPress.org does not host websites, when I go to the address priscillavidrinephotography.com it says coming soon?
1.) Can my website go live on WordPress.org
2.) If not, why did I purchase WordPress.org
3.) How do I transfer my content to WordPress.com and make live
4.) How long does this take to go liveAgain, I am not good at this stuff so please be as straight forward and outline the exact steps that need to be taken for me to get my site live. Thank you!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi, @pvidrine16,
It seems that your site (http://priscillavidrinephotography.com/) is not hosted on WordPress.COM.
Your site is hosted on Bluehost with a software install of WordPress.ORG which means that it is not applicable to this forum.
It would be better suited for you to ask question 1 and 2 at https://WordPress.org/support/ for more accurate answers.
If you don’t have a WordPress.ORG account you’ll need to create one. Your WordPress.COM account won’t work there.
Also, you can read the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org here https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Having said that, to answer #3 & 4, check out the documentation at https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-from-self-hosted-wordpress-to-wordpress-com/view-all/ for the exact steps you’ll need to take.
Hope this helps!
If you need any further assistance, let us know. Thanks for your understanding.

Hello, it looks like you asked a similar question here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/website-live?replies=2#post-3049149 which I have now closed to keep all support in one place.
To explain a bit further about your #1 and #2, WordPress.org does not host websites. WordPress.org is the source of the WordPress software that you can install on a web hosting provider like BlueHost to create a website.
Since the only visible page on your current site at BlueHost is the “Coming Soon” page, if you want to move your site to a new WordPress.com site, you can follow this guide: https://transferto.wordpress.com/self-hosted-wordpress-org/
In order to use your custom domain on a WordPressdotcom website, you would need to upgrade to one of our plans. Here’s more on that: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
https://en.support.wordpress.com/plan-features/Hope that helps and let us know if you have any other questions about this by posting back in this forum thread. Posting multiple threads on the same topic makes it a bit harder to track progress. Thanks.

Just to add one other piece of information, if you purchased a special theme that you want to use on your WordPressdotcom website, the only upgrade plan here that would allow that is the Business plan upgrade. More on that here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/business-plan/

Hi pvidrine16,
I’ll run through what I can see on your account:
You purchased the Business plan for priscillavidrinephotography.wordpress.com. priscillavidrinephotography.com was registered through FastDomain so you added domain mapping in order to connect that domain to your WordPress.com site. You then cancelled the Business plan and domain mapping.
priscillavidrinephotography.com is now pointing to a WordPress.org site hosted by Bluehost. I can see you have connected this site to your WordPress.com account with the Jetpack plugin. Although priscillavidrinephotography.com is not hosted by WordPress.com, the Jetpack plugin enables you to manage it through your account here.
1.) Can my website go live on WordPress.org
Your domain is currently pointing to a WordPress.org site hosted by Bluehost. However, that site doesn’t appear to have any content yet.
2.) If not, why did I purchase WordPress.org
If you want to create your site on WordPress.com, you won’t need separate hosting. However, if you have already added content to that site but not published yet, it’s best not to remove the site until your content has been imported in to WordPress.com.
3.) How do I transfer my content to WordPress.com and make live
How much content have you already added to the other site? If you have a quite a few posts, it may be better to export them from your WordPress.org site and import them into WordPress.com. I can send you instructions if this is something you would like to go ahead with :)
As @justjennifer mention, third party themes like the one you purchased from ProPhoto are only compatible with the Business plan.
4.) How long does this take to go live
Your WordPress.com site can ‘go live’ any time you are ready. There is an option to mark the site private if you don’t want it to be visible to the public just yet (I can also send instructions for that too).
Come back to me if you have any questions — you can reply in this thread rather than creating a new one.
Thanks for your help @justjennifer and @eemmanuelokon!
