  Is it possible to use a domain I already own without purchasing a WordPress plan?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  To transfer the domain to WordPress.com, your account will require a plan upgrade. Each plan comes with a credit for your domain, so there’s not an
  additional fee there.

  Check out the plans at https://wordpress.com/pricing/ and add one to your account. Then you can proceed with the domain transfer.

  You can transfer your domain to WordPress.com using “Transferring a domain to WordPress.com” in Domain page.

  Your domain registration and billing will be moved from your current domain provider to WordPress.com. That means in future we’ll manage all aspects of
  your domain here, including renewal, cancellation, or a future transfer.

  Hi cesttragique,

  In addition to transferring the domain to WordPress.com, it is also possible to connect a domain to WordPress.com with domain mapping (which also requires a paid plan):

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

  This can be useful if you wish to keep the domain registered with your current provider.

  As @nrpatil0408 mentioned, transferring the domain to WordPress.com will be the better option if you wish to manage the site and domain from one place and have a single renewal cost each year (the domain will be renewed with the plan once transferred here).
