  Hi Guys,

  do i need to buy a hosting package if i buy a domain from wordpress?

  We don’t sell hosting on WordPress.com.

  You can create and host a site with us completely for free.

  We do sell upgrade plans to add optional extra features to your site. To register your own custom domain with us will require that you upgrade to one of these paid plans.

  On the WordPress.com platform, you won’t need to buy extra hosting as your site will be fully hosted with WordPress.com, please see the link below for pricing options:

  It’s important to note that, if you are planning on having an upgraded account, you will receive a free domain for a year, you’ll only pay for the domain from the following year.
