  Does WordPress host my website or do I need to go through a hosting company in addition to WordPress?

  Hi there,

  Your website is fully hosted with WordPress.com regardless what your plan is with us. Which means you do not need have to go through a hosting company whereby, the self-hosted version, whose software is available for free at WordPress.org. This requires purchasing hosting with another provider, such as Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc. and installing WordPress software on it.

  With WordPress.com you can start off with a free plan and upgrade whenever you want. Paid upgrades will allow you to use more features such as using a custom domain, plugins and custom themes.
