Hosting

Hi there,
We do not sell “hosting” as a standalone product, but we do “host” any sites you create under your account. For example we are the host for booksaplentysite.wordpress.com
If you are trying to start a new site (you can have as many under your account as you wish) you can do that here: https://wordpress.com/start/

Okay, so . . . I’m about to buy the Premium package. Is that how WordPress (through this package) will host me? When I buy it? I already have a domain name and am going to connect it to my site after I buy the package.

Gotcha. The term “hosting” is one that has a few different meanings, so I can understand your confusion here. To clarify our upgrade plans add capabilities to your site (like a custom domain, ability to upload video, add plugins, etc) that it does not have already.
It does not add “hosting” since we already host the free site, but in your case if you upgrade to the premium plan, this will allow you to change the address of your site to a custom address. So we will appear to host your site at a custom address instead of the default one assigned at the time of creation.
If you have a domain already with another company you can transfer it or “map” it to us. If you do not have a domain you can pick one out after you upgrade and the first year is free with your plan.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Ohhhh. So, what you’re saying is–ya’ll already host the site, but by buying the Premium plan, that will allow me to change my domain name (along with having the other added features). Correct?

Yep! You can compare what the different plan levels provide here by expanding the “Compare our plans” button:

I hope that clarifies things! Let us know if you have any questions or need help with anything else.

You’re welcome! Let us know if you have any other questions – otherwise once you purchase Premium, you’ll also have access to live chat and email support under your account page:

Cheers!
