Hosting

Hello I am having trouble with the speed and other tech issues on my new WP website http://www.michaelberkowitzdesign.com. I was told by a WP agent that ‘Your website seems to be self-hosted via WordPress.org on a 3rd party hosting company (https://www.whois.com/whois/michaelberkowitzdesign.com)’
Would it be better if WP hosted the site and if so I could switch hosts from Whois to Register.com? to WordPress recommended BlueHost? If i have to change the name from michaelberkowitzdesign to michaelberkowitzstudio that would be fine as long as Blue Host can improve the speed of my site. Please let me know? Thank you.Site: https://michaelberkowitz.wordpress.com.

Hey there! It sounds like there may be some confusion remaining still. Have you seen this article?
https://get.wp.comWordPress.com is a service. WordPress on any other host is free software; the hosting company would provide hosting and other services.
I can’t make any promises about the speeds of hosts we recommend: we know they’re good hosts, however it’s ultimately a combination of their server setup and your site configuration & traffic.
In any case, so long as you own the domain in question, you shouldn’t have to change it. You could keep it where it is, point it to another host, transfer if you’d like, etc. That can all be independent of the WordPress site itself.
To move from one host to another, I’d recommend using a backup & restore plugin, then changing where the domain points once everything is nicely in place. If you want to move your site here, so that we’re hosting it for you, we’ve got a guide here:
