  Hi there,

  To clarify, you have a WordPress site on another provider that you wish to migrate to your managed WordPress.com service instead? If so you can migrate your site by following the instructions here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-an-entire-wordpress-site/

  Hi there,

  Thanks for the link.

  That site is built using the open source WordPress software, so you should be able to use the process linked to above to migrate that site to us on WordPress.com.

  Thanks for your reply.
  I am a novice, so need help to do the migrate.
  Also, have questions regarding the preferred plan, cost, how much assistance would be needed from the provider that created the website, and emails connected to the URL.
  I have been unable to locate a way to speak to someone at WordPress

  To clarify, there are three different “WordPress” at play here:

  1. The free, open-source WordPress software which powers your website.
  2. WordPress.org which is the open-source project that works on the WordPress software and where you can get the software for free to use on your own hosting provider.
  3. WordPress.com which is a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software and with whom you’re contacting now.

  There isn’t any general place to “speak to someone at WordPress” since it’s an open-source project and there is no dedicated support team – it’s all volunteers.

  Here at WordPress.com, we have email and live chat support depending on the paid plan level you purchase. Otherwise, we provide support here on the free support forums, where both Staff and volunteers will help with any questions.

  If you need help migrating your site, you would need to purchase the Pro plan and use our “Import Everything” service. The Pro plan does give you live chat support, so our Happiness Engineers can help walk you through the steps you need to do on your current site and here at WordPress.com.

  Regarding emails – if you have any email that uses the kortz.com domain, you would need to reconfigure any and all email addresses using that domain by setting up Professional Email. Our support team can help you with that via live chat as well.

  If you are serious about migrating your site here, I would recommend upgrading to Pro right away so you can get access to those priority support channels through your account page to answer any more questions before you get started.
