    Hello
Can you help me I am a little confused?

I have bought only my domain name with Namecheep and I am asking them for their help with pointing my domain name to you guys.
I am new at all this so please understand this.
What I need to know is all I bought was a domain name should I have also bought hosting with Namecheep?
Do I need hosting or do you do this?

I just want to be able to get my blog live and I want to use my domain name deborahelves.com

    Kind regards

WordPress.com is a hosting provider. Your website would be hosted at deborahelves.wordpress.com but you can then map your custom domain deborahelves.com to that site, so your visitors would just see deborahelves.com when visiting your WordPress.com site.

    Dear Jackie

    Thanks very much.
I have only just bought my domain name with namecheep the found wordpress I wish I had of just done everything through wordpress because I am nor having to try and point mu domain name from namecheep to wordpress which I am really struggling to do.
I have emailed namecheep to enplane this to them and given the some codes that word press gave me do you think they will do this on my behalf? or could you talk me through it please?

Also do I have to tell and pay wordpress to host for me or will they just do it automatically now that I have joined them?

If you use WordPress.com, the hosting is free. You’d need to purchase domain mapping for $13 US, and then add the WordPress.com name servers to your domain at Namecheap. They could assist you with that part of the process, as we don’t have access to your domain registrar.

The process is actually pretty simple, and we explain it here:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

Once that’s done, you could build your site at deborahelves.wordpress.com and make your custom domain the primary domain, and everyone would see your site as hosted with us.

Oh ok that all sound great Jackie so first thing is to purchase domain mapping which I tried to do yesterday but will follow that link you have sent to me and I should be able to buy it there. Thanks very much.

You’re very welcome! If you get stuck with any part of this, just let me know. We try to explain it in our documentation but I’m happy to help if some of it doesn’t make sense.

You can get to your Dashboard directly at http://deborahelves.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

Ok, Right so here is where I am at I have paid the 9 pound for domain mapping
    Receipt

Thank you for flying with WordPress.com, a better way to blog.
    Now I am seeing
t looks like you’re getting email at deborahelves.com.

MX records let you to receive email at email addresses like “(email visible only to moderators and staff)”. It looks you currently have the following MX records set:
    10 eforward2.registrar-servers.com
    15 eforward4.registrar-servers.com
    20 eforward5.registrar-servers.com
    10 eforward1.registrar-servers.com
    10 eforward3.registrar-servers.com

Would you like to transfer these MX records for deborahelves.com?

I did not know that I was getting emails o deborahelves.com because I only bought that domain name yesterday, I access my emails from (email visible only to moderators and staff), but for my new buiness I want to use deborahelves.com???
    I am stuck

Can you please help me step by step with all this and also with this messgae that I got when trying to add my domain name to wordpress:
I think i would like to try and do it with your help please.

We checked the nameservers and it looks like they’re not pointing to WordPress.com yet. If you recently updated them please check again soon. It can take a few hours for registrars to complete update their nameservers.

i think that i have managed to point my domain name from namecheep to word press?????
    Domain name servers updated!
The domain name servers are updated based on your request. As the options would change based on DNS server used, we have refreshed the page to show appropriate links on the left side.
    I put in these codes:
    • NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

    Was that all correct?

    Hi Jackie
When I google deborahelves.com my blog does not come up?

    This does: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/hosting-53?replies=10

What do I have to do with my blog next please thanks

  • Unknown's avatar

    Congrats! :)

Currently everything looks great, assuming eforward1.registrar-servers.com refers to the company who you have your email hosting with. Who is your email hosting provider?

You will need to wait up to 72 hours for your new domain to be linked to your site across the internet – these records have to propagate around the world. After that, everything should be working.

As far as Google goes, that takes time. Please take a look at the following page for more information for how that works: http://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/
