Hosting an application using wordpress

Hello guys. I’m a newbie to building sites with WordPress but i really love it so far. i was given a task recently. this is the breakdown of what is to be done:
-its a state government website that will function as a portal for users who want to find information about residents in the state.
– the website is supposed to contain the application (developed by someone else).
– how the application works is that the user has a list of field he/she can use to query for specific information e.g If he/she wants to know the numbers of mechanical engineers in the state filtered by a certain age, last name, county etc.. all through the click of a single button.
I know its a lot but i really just want to know if all these can be achieved by using WordPress. thanks in advanceThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You don’t want wordpress.com: you need wordpress.ORG.
