Hosting and domain issues with mail
-
I purchased my domain and email from Domain.com. My site is built and hosted by WordPress. The site itself works fine, but my email does not. When I contacted Domain.com, I was told I needed to get A Record IP address from WordPress to give to Domain.com to have my email pointed in the right direction. This doesn’t make sense to me, and I can’t find anything to help.

Hi Natalie – For your email, you need to add any MX or other custom DNS records here that Domain.com provides:
https://wedforblue.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains&action=dnsedit&domain=wedforblue.comI see you have a couple there now. The A record looks properly formatted, but typically the MX record will not have an IP address in it. Rather, it usually has a URL in it, such as this:
MX 10 mx00.domain.com.
Can you please contact Domain.com support and check with them about the exact MX record you need to have?
