  Hi I am clueless when it comes to I.T and did all this purely off research and Videos..
  I registered a new domain name with HostGator and now i dont how to change it on wordpress so i can feature hostgator.. if that makes sense

  Hello,

  I am bit confused by the question, but I will try to help the best I can.
  If you want to use the domain purchased with Hostgator for your WordPress website, first you will need to upgrade your WordPress.com plan to one of the paying ones:
  https://wordpress.com/pricing

  Next, you will need to change the DNS records and point (map) the domain to WordPress.com from your Hostgator user dashboard.

  In the Hostgator article, you can see how to find the panel with the Domain control settings, where you will do the necessary change:

  Another option is to move the domain completely from Hostgator to WordPress.com. How to do that is explained here:
