Hosting and support advice needed

My photography site, Macfilos.com, is currently self-hosted by a small agency who do not offer additional support. It is a large site with, I am told, 58GB of storage. I am looking to migrate to a full-service operation such as WordPress.com provided I can get advice, theme updates and general trouble-shooting. Where would I start and can this be achieved painlessly and without interruption of service?

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

  • Hi there,

Because your current site is on WordPress you do have the option to use our “Import Everything” tool to import an exact copy of your current site. We discuss that in detail here, but it greatly simplifies the process of switching providers.

Please note that to use this option you will need our WordPress.com Pro Plan, as this is not an option for free sites on our platform. The advantage of the Pro Plan is that your site will enjoy the same functionality it has now, but it will be on our managed service with security scanning, brute force login protection, user accessible backups, and automatic software updates. The plan also provides access to our priority support team including live chat support Monday through Friday.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
