Hosting Ireland Domain

    Hosting Ireland have a wordpress optimised option, is it better to use this and map the domain or transfer the domain to wordpress?

    The domain is currently mapped to a site on WIX that I want to transfer to WordPress

    Hi there,

    If you use WordPress hosting from Hosting Ireland, you’ll be using the open source version of WordPress, made by the people on WordPress.org.

    The forum you’re posting in now is for WordPress.com, another hosting provider for that software, same as Hosting Ireland.

    In other words, if you go with Hosting Ireland, your site will have nothing to do with WordPress.com at all, and you won’t transfer or map the domain to us; you’ll need to map your domain to your server at Hosting Ireland.

    Note that if you host with us, unlimited bandwidth, site security, spam protection, maintenance and automatic software updates are included for free, with our upgrade plans then paying for additional features on your site.

    (P.S., note that we’re not an accredited registrar for .ie domains, so if you have one of those you won’t be able to transfer it to us, just map it.)
