Hosting my blog to somewhere else

Hi WordPress team, I have a problem. I need to upload a new theme for my blog but i just realized that i cannot do such a thing. So i have 2 questions:
1. There is any way to upgrade my account so i’ll be able tu upload .zip files for themes and plugins?
2. There is a way to migrate my hosting to another provider? I will keep using WordPress but i will put everything in another service hosting and transfer the domain name.

You cannot upgrade your WordPress.COM account to upload a theme you found online or designed yourself.
You can choose pay for hosting your site somewhere (Netscape Solutions, GoDaddy or hundreds of other providers), purchase a domain name, then use WordPress.ORG to make the site work.
There are different kinds of WordPress. Here is an article about the features of each:

Ok, so i need to “unblock” the domain to transfer the site right? Usually is required a transfer code to change hosted sites to other provider. I already have a provider, but how can i pass the domain over there? Thanks a lot for the quick response :)

Your DNS are now pointing to your wp.com site. I think you can change them to point to your new provider, but my experience with wp.ORG has been only with sites which never had domain mapping (name and provider were the same).

You will also want to export your wp.com site to the wp.org site. And probably install Jetpack and akismet.

Here is info about exporting your wp.com to wp.org:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/I’ve done this wp.com to wp.com, and it’s straight forward. I think doing the export to wp.org will also be uncomplicated.

yes i guess export the blog will be much better than transfer it.. the problem will be the domain i guess?

I don’t think that will be a difficult problem.
But as I said, my only work on wp.org has been with the domain and host as the same, as well as never having been mapped to wp.com: they were long-standing sites which I re-designed to use wp.org. So I don’t really have experience with domain mapping.
I know several of the other volunteers would be better able to advise you about how to change that.

Sorry I cannot give you better information: just be patient and I’m sure I’ll learn something as well. I ended up paying my daughter to help me and still am not quite sure what she did! It only took a few minutes, but explaining it to dumb mom has been a tour or misunderstanding!
