hosting my own wordpress

    Hi there – at the outset let me say that I am IT challenged, so please be kind and use simple (step by step) instructions. I am wanting to do the following:
    Host my own blog on my own domain
    create a blog that will enable me to have a static main page, with three additional pages (or would it have to be sub-domains?) which enable multiple users to post on those pages and not on the front page. I have tried “searching” under various topics and it seems most assume that I should know what I’m doing, which I definitley don’t, and I am now feeling desperate, very stupid and also running out of time.
    Please assist – I would be very grateful for some help here.
