Hosting my site Internally

i would like to know how I am am able (if I am) to build a site via wordpress and then have it on an internal company server/intranet so that it is only available for employees to access.
I have built a dummy one as part of a task but I’ve noticed if I have it public basically anyone can access it if the address is given out.
I’m new to doing this so not sure if I’m wording this correctly. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there
You can absolutely do this. The files to install WordPress are available at:
    https://wordpress.org/download/

All the documentation is found at https://developer.wordpress.org/

And support for self-hosted installations like you propose is found at:
    https://wordpress.org/support/

If you have it on your company servers, only authorized people should be able to access it, unless your company servers have security/authentication issues already.

    enjoy!
    dave
