Hosting mysteriously moved from Wix to WordPress

  My website — http://www.aboutnothing.me — has been hosted on Wix since I started it last year. Last week it mysteriously moved from Wix to WordPress. I’ve talked to Wix, Hostgator and Wild West. All say I need to get WordPress to release the site so it can be moved back to Wix. Trouble is, the site doesn’t appear on the WordPress site, only a free site I never used (aboutnothing.wordpress.com).

  Please help.

  This was a little confusing. After looking at this and WHOIS on this, it does seem like that WordPress is your Named Server and your Registrar.

  What I am going to do is get a WordPress employee to have a look at this and help you further.

  @blacter our records say you cancelled the domain a few weeks ago. When it’s cancelled, it is not released right away.

  Luckily it doesn’t seem to be in its redemption period, though. I’ll see if we can get the domain back to our account so we can get it to your account.

  Appreciate the help.

  Do you have any idea how this could have happened? The domain has always been with Wix and I didn’t cancel it at WordPress. Just curious.

  All I can see is that our logs say you removed the upgrade. It is looking like we’ll be able to get the name back for you though. l’ll keep you updated.

  @blacter looks like the domain is active again.

  If you want to transfer it to the new provider, here are the steps you’ll need on our end:
