Hosting on Godaddy, why is it forwarding my site to wordpress.com?

    I signed up for hosting through godaddy.com for wordpress and after it was all set up I went to the wordpress app and clicked on blog.aliciajonesphotography.com/wp-admin and I keep getting this “Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain. ” and if I hit login it takes me to wordpress.com. I don’t understand why it’s doing this can someone please explain? I don’t want to host through wordpress.com that’s why I set it up through godaddy.com so what’s the problem? I contacted godaddy’s support and they told me it was an issue with wordpress not godaddy

    Go into the domain management panel here and make sure the primary blog here is set to http://aliciajonesphotography.wordpress.com/ and not blog.aliciajonesphotography.com

    See #3 here, but click the other radio button, not the one by your registered domain.

    @TSP

    aliciajonesphotography.wordpress.com is no longer available.
    The authors have deleted this blog.

    I deleted aliciajonesphotography.wordpress.com but I had already deleted the domain mapping to blog.aliciajonesphotography.com so aliciajonesphotography.wordpress.com was set as the primary blog for over a year which is why I don’t understand how it could still be connected to it in any way.

    If you deleted aliciajonesphotography.wordpress.com then there is no way for you to correct whatever setting needs to be corrected, so the only way this can be sorted out is by staff doing it. There is a setting somewhere in the domain mapping that needs to be changed and since you deleted it, only staff can change it.

    Staff are on walkabout till the 15th of August, but they are monitoring the forums and this thread has been tagged for their attention. It might be a little while before they see it and respond, so you will just need to be patient.

    Just something to remember for future, never delete one site until you are absolutely, positively certain that the new one is up and running correctly.
