hosting our website

    Hi,

    We currently own our own domain. We built our website on wordpress.org and have it hosted by a friend.

    We’d like to purchase a wordpress theme and have wordpress host our site and connect it, somehow to our blog (which was connected to our website previously).

    We’re not sure how to do this and would really appreciate some assistance.

    To clarify, are you looking to move the current site that’s being hosted with your friend over to WordPress.com – as is? If yes, that’s totally possible as we have a migration tool available as seen here: https://wordpress.com/support/import/import-an-entire-wordpress-site/

    To note, a business plan would be required for the above.

    Or, are you looking add a blog onto the domain, under a sub-domain?

    The answer to the above will help us to put together next steps and guide you toward what you need going forward.
