Hosting Plans
-
I am strongly considering a WordPress.com Premium hosting plan for its extra storage space and potential for monetization. However, unlike most hosting company websites, WordPress.com’s ‘Pricing’ page isn’t terribly detailed and there is no customer service number to call.
1.) I assume this plan includes an SSL certificate and the SEO-enhancing ‘https’ website address. Is this accurate?
2.) How much traffic does this plan support?
3.) Is Google AdSense compatible (I seem to recall that the answer is no, but want to make sure)?
4.) What are the real, genuine benefits to going with WordPress.com hosting vs., say, Dreamhost?
5.) What are the cons?
I am looking for something super simple like Medium as a hosting solution, so that I can focus on content and not all of the back-end BS, but Medium’s recent volatility, lack of a clear revenue and monetization model, and reliance on VC funding makes me nervous (not to mention the inability to migrate a multi-author site should conditions warrant.)
Thanks for any insight!
