Hosting without a new domain?

    I don’t need a new domain, I plan on using one I already own- but that one is currently in use and using a squarespace account. I want to stage a site using Username.wordpress.org or something like that, and then transfer my domain later. Is that possible? Or is there a different solution I haven’t considered. I *don’t* want to transfer the content from squarespace, I’m starting from scratch.

    Thanks for getting in touch. My suggestion is to use the free site address that was registered with your account. pacificmmc.wordpress.com. Build the new site there and then once it is finished you will connect the domain through mapping or a transfer. That domain connection is included with your hosting plan.
