Hosting/URL/WP download confusion!
-
So, I’m using WordPress for my site and I bought a domain from 123reg. I’ve redirected the domain such that it points to the costfreeculture.wordpress.com url, but I want it so that it’s just the domain I bought ‘www.costfreeculture.com’
I’m an absolute n00b, so please be patient with me. What do I need to do?
I’m just a little confused as to whether it needs to be hosted elsewhere or not? Also, how if at all, does it affect me buying and installing a theme?
Actually, while we’re here, what’s the difference between downloading WP and just managing the site online without downloading wp? So many questions…
Again, thanks for your patience.

The only themes we can use on free hosted WordPress com blogs are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/
WordPress.com and WordPress.org run on different software and themes are not transferable between them. There are many important differences between the two. Please read this entry very carefully so your understand the limitations and restrictions on free hosted WordPress.com blogs vs. WordPress.org http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you choose to remain here at WordPress.com then you do not need another web host, WordPress.com is your free web host for this blog http://costfreeculture.wordpress.com/
And, here’s then here’s how to map from your WordPress.com blog to your new domain:

Absolutely, exactly what I was looking for.
I couldn’t be more thankful!
It looks like I need to be over on .org by the look of things…
