Hover Text tool available at WordPress.com?

  Dear WordPress Support Team,

  I’ve recently launched a new blog especially for my Japanese junior high school students, to provide audio and visual support for them while they are learning to read English words in their textbooks and other printed materials. I’d very much like to make it possible for them to hover the mouse over a word and a quick translation in Japanese pops up.

  There appears to be a “Text Hover” plugin that enables writers to add hover text to regular text in posts at WordPress.org, but I have searched and searched for it and unfortunately it does not appear to be available for users of WordPress.com
  If it is available at WordPress.com, please could you let me know how I can install it on my blog?
  If it is not presently available, would it be possible for you to make it available?

  I would be so grateful, and a potentially very large number of Japanese students of English could benefit, if you could make a Hover Text tool available at WordPress.com

  Hi there!

  This sounds like a great tool, but third party plugins cannot be installed on WordPress.com sites. This is a security risk as we cannot vet all outside code and it puts our users, their sites, and our servers at risk.

  Plugins are only usable on self-hosted WordPress.org sites.

  I know the difference between .com and .org can get confusing, so here’s a breakdown of the benefits of each:

  I highly suggest adding your desire for this plug in at our user ideas page:

  We like to keep tabs on features that our users hope to gain.

  Thanks for the quick reply with explanation about the security risk of installing 3rd party plugins.

  I really hope WordPress.com will make a Hover Text feature available for users, so I will write my wish for it at your user ideas page.
