Hover/Active Colors in Nav Menu

  I’m attempting to change the hover and active colors in my navigation menu, but nothing that I add or change in the custom CSS is working. I’m sure that it’s something small that I’m just overlooking. Can anyone help?

  Please try this CSS:

  .main-navigation a:hover, .main-navigation ul > :hover > a, .main-navigation ul > .focus > a {
  color: yellow;
  }
  
  .main-navigation li.current_page_item > a, .main-navigation li.current-menu-item > a {
  color:green;
  }
