Hovering over links causes hits on my blog
-
I asked yesterday (no solution), but now back with more information, so:
PROBLEM
– im logged on to my blog
– i move mouse over a link (pointing to a post in my blog) on my startpage
– a few seconds later i get a hit on this post (which i see on stats as well as feedjit).DETAILS
** it seems, this happens only, when “Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks” (in Discussion Settings is checked/switched on)
** There are three american locations for them this happens.
** They all run on Linux, with unknown browser.
** The posts/links in question havent been updated very recently.
** The posts/links all are on my blog.
** As soon as a hit came in, it will take approx 3 hours until i can reproduce this ‘mouse-over-hit-thing’ for the same(!) link again. (and i’m quite sure, this ‘time-delay’ started rather recently; before it caused a hit at any time…)
** when i switch off the Pingback-thing (see above in ‘Discussion’-section), i have to restart the browser to have the hits stopping, refreshing it doesnt do the trick.
** i checked online: kaspersky, eset, ad-aware, webroot — no virus found, all cookies deleted…
** on my webpage one of those ‘locations’ once left a ‘Comment’, in the dashboard it says “Pingback on Victim: Gabriel Ferez”, then a snippet of the text, and two IP adresses, one from US, the other from Switzerland.WEBSITE

good examples make the links right under the pic of the post (on the homepage) “in court”, text “Collection of statements”Is this any normal ? – that even the information i did hover over a link is sent to some receiver ?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

sorry, forgot to add something important:
it seems the ‘preview’ has to switch on, before the post is hit.

Update:
The case
– I’m NOT logged on to my blogThen:
– the previews look different:
(a) it shows the website cap of the post
(b) or it contains only text, titled : “RSS: <title of the posting>… <further text of the posting>.Effect:
– only the post of case (a) gets a hit, seconds later, as usualy
– but this time, it comes from another american location (browser firefox, OS unknown)Maybe I just have some strange combination of settings, in IE8 and/or the postings, the blog (..) ?
Can you please let me know, if you have any idea, what I could look up to prevent this ‘user’ or whatever else it is from nerving me on mouse moves ?
today i checked the feedjit live traffic, of feedjit’s ‘own’ users…
strangely – or not – all those guys (same locations, same linux/unknown browser, same firefox/unknown OS) showed up there regulary… so every 15 – 30 minutes, always as ‘new’ user, not returning customer…Also, it seems, the ‘Discussion’-Widget-setting: “Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks)” doesn’t matter/change anything at all.
Its switched off, but doesnt prevent any ‘bot'(?) coming along… -
