How are views calculated
-
I was wondering about how the stats work. Yesterday I had one of my posts added to the webstite I-am-bored.com to allow me to get more views…
Looking on the site I can see the Link got 1700+ hits, however my views only increased by about 100….
So this does not make sense to me,
Can someone help me understand???
Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I see that you got over 32,000 hits on the 19th and over 9,000 on the 20th. If readers are clicking on to your site that will count as a view.
Please note that stats are not counted in real time. If they don’t look right, check back in a day or two to see how they have added up.
Let me know if you have any questions with this!

Okay I should state that the 32k and 9k views were weird… but I traced that back to one of my posts that was linked to a search topic on a Russian website…not sure who or how that happened….but thats not the views I am referring to…
I was just wondering about the the views logged for yesterday 21 Jan….
Like I mentioned, I tested what the effect of me, creating a link to a post on a site like i-am-bored.com would do to my views. On the site I can see that my link recieved 1700+ hits, and that would make sense to me that I would have recieved 1700+ views extra, however this did not reflect on the stats?
AM I missing something regarding what actually counts as a view?

I’m not sure how that site counts views and it may be different from the way we calculate them, so I wouldn’t read too much into that. But as long as the readers are clicking onto your site, that would be considered a view in your stats.
