How are we getting this domain for free?

Hello, I have recently taken over this website http://www.msnaf.org and I am trying to cancel this subscription – it is saying I have a ‘free’ plan. How is this possible? And if someone is still paying for the domain who would they be paying?

Your domain isn’t registered at WordPress.com. It’s a self-hosted website which is hosted on HostGator.
We can only help with a website hosted on WordPress.com. Please contact your web hosting customer support.

Hi there, msnaf.org is not registered through WordPress.com and it is not hosted here.
It is registered through Dreamhost.
That domains nameservers are pointing at Bluehost. That is where the site is hosted.
If you cancel the domain name, the website associated with it will completely disappear because it will not have a domain name. Don’t cancel the domain name until you are sure that is what you want.
