How can a site be reserved?
-
my username is upwegrow123, but it won’t let my domain be upwegrow123.wordpress.com

You are not logged in under the correct matching username account to register that site.
When we register a username account the matching blog is reserved for our future use. It cannot be obtained by anyone other than the person who has registered the matching username account.
If you own the username account then you can log out, clear your browser cache and cookies
https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache
https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies
Then log in as Admin under the correct matching username account and register the blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/If you do not own that account, or if you did an then changed it, then you can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

Well, I am logged in as afthue, as you see. But just “afthueblog.wordpress.com” ist proposed to me. And I really need “afthue.wordpress.com”…
