how can anyone access my site? How do I fix this?
-
I can access my site if I log on using your confirmation email, but I cannot access the site if I try to directly log onto it on the web.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This is the login link http://fredroe.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
I can access http://fredroe.wordpress.com/ easily and if you can’t then that means you have some kind of browser related issue or connectivity issue.
In order to help you we need to know your specific computing environment details. Please work through what follows and report back.
1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:

Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions
4. You can use this link to see if your flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not then go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and download and install the latest version of flash.
5. Try using another browser.
6. If you are not successful let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/
(c) Exactly what you experience including what any error reports you receive state. -
First, thanks for the advice, and I did follow up on a few things you recommended, but I don’t think I was quite clear in explaining my problem. The problem is, even though I can type in http://fredroe.wordpress.com on the address bar, it simply doesn’t appear on the browser/search list of websites.
I should also caution that there seems to be other Fred Roe’s (God forbid!) out there that have nothing to do with what I’ve got going on out there. One in particular seems to have been an artist, book author on furniture and art expert… Not me! haha. I can access their material, but my site simply does not appear, at least on my computer. -
it simply doesn’t appear on the browser/search list of websites.
Quite normal – it takes search engines 4 to 6 weeks to index a new site – you site is maybe 3 weeks old and has ONE simple Post – not much of a reason for search engines to pay any attention to your site

Hi there,
auxclass is right on. You need to post frequently. It takes weeks for search engines to index content in a new blog and/or to re-index content under a new URL. What attracts search engines is unique content in posts (not pages) that cannot be found anywhere else on the internet. Start now publishing original content posts frequently two or even three times weekly. For more information read > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/01/21/omg-i-cant-find-my-blog-on-google/The rule of thumb is to assign the least, not the most, combined number of only relevant categories and tags that accurately describe the post content. For tips on tagging see > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2013/03/15/quick-blog-post-tagging-tips/
To verify blog ownership of a WordPress.com blog with the major search engines you must use this process > http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
Note: Even if you do not verify the blog the content will be indexed by search engines so don’t feel panicky about this please.Note also that WordPress.com automatically supplies sitemaps for our blogs to search engines – we do nothing. http://en.support.wordpress.com/sitemaps/#xml-sitemaps-for-search-engines

Google does know that you exist: https://www.google.com/search?q=fredroe.wordpress.com.&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=rcs#channel=rcs&q=site:http:%2F%2Ffredroe.wordpress.com%2F&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official
For my site, some search terms return 100,000 or 1,000,000 hits – and being on page one can be somewhat difficult – follow @TT’s advice above and you will do fine
