how can I access the "classic" editing template?

need to access the “classic” mode editing template
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
I need to access it to. The new editing template is garbage. There is little to no control over placement and final appearance. I’m honestly over it. Bring Classic back!
-
Absolutely. I was shocked by how the post looked when I previewed it.
And there seems to be no way to get WordPress’ attention, or their
answer to the request. Let’s see if anyone else weighs in… -
I got to the classic template from the WP Admin panel, clicking on
Posts > Add new
Thank goodness, because I was experiencing a mild panic attack while facing that awful new interface… -
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
But they’ll probably find some new way to
make it impossible to get to it at all.
The changes WordPress makes often make
enjoying the platform impossible. it’s like
an obstacle course… -
I suggest bookmarking the links that you use frequently so you don’t have to click so many times just to add a new post or edit an older one.
More info, including workarounds so you don’t ever have to use the BBB editor: https://dandelionsalad.wordpress.com/2015/04/01/how-to-use-the-classic-editor-on-wordpress-com-blogs-and-never-see-the-beep-beep-boop-editor-again-by-lo/

Alas, the blog is basically a series of reviews of films, plays, books, concerts, etc. So each post is different. The sites visited almosts all the time are Google images (which are collected and stored in a file
before I begin editing, so I don’t have to do it in process), IMDb
(again, in advance), and Google Web (for additional info).I know well enough that WordPress keeps updating its tech side to
keep people interested. But we are interested in content and opinion,
not in “updates” which mostly confound and complicate what once
was an enjoyable thing, and has become more and more what we dread. But I am grateful for your suggestion, appreciate the wit of
your link’s title, and hope for the best…. -

What I meant was bookmark the WP Admin pages that you use frequently.
I use one of the workarounds that tpenguinltg made, and never, ever use the “new, too-blue, BBB” editor. The user script for your browser works better than the cookie thing that WP had before they eliminated it.

Will try to — but there are very few WP admin pages that I use.
I’ve tweaked Kubric to use part of a Tiepolo painting (wonderfully goofy)
and think that the page most used is Site admin, where I check stats
and occasionally try to decipher the left-hand side of the page. What’s becoming clear is that we are not alone in fearing the “new, too-blue BBB” editor. All comments so far indicate that there are a lot of WordPressers who are not happy. Why doesn’t WordPress listen to them?
Again, my thanks for your suggestions. They will be followed.

I have no fear of this new editor. I simply don’t choose to use it. I don’t vote in biased polls that have no validity, nor do I promote them. Instead I use the classic editor and I also published a post on how to do that.
You cannot deactivate the new Beep Beep Boop editor but you do not have to use it. For locating all the ways and means of accessing the legacy or classic pages for creating posts, editing posts, and viewing stats see here > Navigating the Classic WordPress.COM interface http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2015/04/05/navigating-the-classic-wordpress-com-interface/

You are most welcome. And you are right about the disapproval of removing the link to the classic editor. So many complaints and nothing from WP staff except to say that they will not be re-adding it to the dreadful, mostly non-functional, “new, too-blue, BBB” editor.
-
When compared to the ten of thousands of blogger who blog where hosting is free the number of complaints is few. Moreover, nothing will deter management and Staff from development of the new editor which is aimed top provide access to the site regardless of which devises we use and no matter where in the world we reside. No amount of hang wringing and/or exaggeration and/or bogus polls are going to chnage the plan. We bloggers are fortunate that WordPress.com management and Staff choose to provide the classic editor for our use as well as the new editor.

Edited version (my glasses are broken):

Moreover, nothing will deter management and Staff from development of the new editor, which is aimed to provide access to the site to all, regardless of which devices we use and no matter where in the world we reside. Thanks to Time Thief, too — and again to Dandelion Salad.
I’ve bookmarked your blog (seen today for the first time);
wish I’d known about it earlier. Put plainly, I liked everything
about it. And hope your hiatus is neither permanent nor
even lengthy (though God knows I fully understand your
frustration with the technology required to just express
an idea in writing or image). -

@apollosgirl
I’m glad you like my blog. I have No-Ads upgrades on my blogs so I blog without obligation ie. only when I have something meaningful to share. I have published over 1000 articles, and as you can see my one cool site blog is strictly focused on WordPress.com blogging tips tools & tutorials. My hiatus probably won’t be as long as I first thought it would be. My good news is that my health is much improved now and I’m moving towards full retirement. That means I will have more time to blog and sing and do everything else I enjoy doing. :)
