How can I add a category to many posts?

Is there a way to add a category to many posts (bulk action)? To do it by individually editing each post is a Sisyphus job.
Rather that bothering you here I would have liked to find my answer in “Support”, but “categories” is not listed in the “Support” index. If you refer me to the appropriate answer in “Support” rather than giving me the answer here I would be doubly happy. Thank you in advance for whichever method you prefer.

Edit posts > click the box next to the post you want to add a category to > apply > choose the category(ies) you want to add > update posts

Oh – it seems so simple and logical whan you describe it.
So I check-mark a couple of boxes on the “Edit Posts” page, then I click the “Apply” button above (which makes my checkmarks disappear), then I select a category name from the pull-down menu on top, and then I can not find the “Update Posts” button and wonder if it is located on another page.
I probably misunderstood something, because it seemed to simple and logical when you described it.

Your checkmarks should not vanish when you click “apply”.
Gack!Edit posts > click the boxes next to the posts you want to add a category to > BULK ACTIONS > edit > apply > choose the category(ies) you want to add > update posts
My apologies. I left out that one step of bulk actions because you were asking about bulk actions so it was obvious to me. Sorry.Of course that should have been in the step by step.
