How can I add a directory to my website that displays the content of the site?

I am hoping to make a new site which will be geared to training people. It will have many content pages, probably over 100. I want users to be able to search for pages easily using a kind of directory system. I don’t want a directory for external sites, it’s to allow users to search internally on my site according to subjects or even alphabetically? Can anyone advise the best way to go about this?- Is it even possible?

Thank you for your help!
If you clicked on a category, is it possible for subheadings to appear as well?- Also do you know if there is a limit to the number of categories that can be added? -
Yes, you can have a Parent category, and drop Child categories under that when you set up the menu.
I don’t think there is a limit, but you probably don’t want the drop down so long, a reader has to scroll to the bottom.

try the Archive short code – I use it on my site to give a list of all the Posts – might not be sorted like you want – but worth a look

You can also hand craft a Page(s) that list the training modules by category
