How can I add a HOME page?

I see no way to specify a HOME page, so that a person who has wandered thru the labyrinth of pages and subpages on a site can return to his starting point: that is, the main post page.
There should be a way that the main post page is set up as a HOME page, so a reader can click on the word HOME from anywhere in the blog, and return to it. The way it is now, I don’t see any way to get back home other than clicking repeatedly on the backward button.

a. In all wp.com themes, the blog title works as a home link.
b. Some themes have a built-in home tab – see here:
http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/05/06/the-home-tab/c. In themes that don’t, you can add a home link in the sidebar using a text widget.
