How can I add a sidebar to my posts and pages?
-
Hello,
I am using the theme Twenty Eleven, and I realized today that only the main page of my blog shows the sidebar. I have been searching the settings to get the sidebar to show up everywhere else, but I am having no luck. I searched the forums as well; I wasn’t quite sure what to search for, but from what I found it looks like this theme is set up specifically not to do this.
So I guess I have a few questions: First, do I need to buy the “Customize CSS” option in order to add sidebars to other pages of my blog? If so, could you please recommend a different theme that has this functionality (as I know nothing at all about CSS, and do not trust in my ability to make the required changes correctly or in a timely manner)? If not, could you please point me in the right direction to implement it?
Thank you very much for your help!

PS: I seem to have found the answer on the theme page itself! Thank you for your help; if I run into trouble I’ll be back.

PPS: The page I found is here, where it states
Twenty Eleven leaves sidebars off of posts and pages to highlight your content and proudly feature the magic that happens between your writing and your visitor’s comments. That said, sometimes you just want a sidebar on your pages. Selecting the custom Sidebar Template for your page will do just that.
Does that last sentence, “Selecting the custom Sidebar Template…” mean that I have to buy the “Customize Design” option? I did not see anything there about an included Sidebar Template other than “Customize CSS”. Or, does it mean that somewhere there’s an option for me to customize my individual pages/posts to use a Sidebar Template that’s provided with the basic Theme?
Thank you very much for your aid!
