How can I add a Wikipedia button along with the other social media icons?

I would like to add a nifty little icon at the bottom of my site that links to Wikipedia. It’s not a traditional social media site, but since my client has a Wiki page, we might as well promote it.

I’m not talking about the sharing buttons beneath posts, but rather the buttons that are built into the footer.

    I’m using the Organization theme.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I don’t think this can be doable with the current theme’s options.

A possible but really hack-ish way to do it is to use an unrelated social media field option (say, use the Github field), but then you enter the Wikipedia URL instead. This will get you a Github icon that links to Wikipedia.

Next, create the Wikipedia icon image yourself, upload it somewhere, and *then* use Custom CSS to replace the Github icon with the Wikipedia icon.

Hack-ish, but I imagine it could work.

Hi @mrosew, this can be done with a bit of CSS trickery. The icons at the bottom of the page in Organization are done with a special font, but what you could do is to create an icon similar to the round icons you see at the bottom of the page, and add the wiki link to one of the unused social link fields at Appearance > Customize > Theme. We could then use CSS to hide the existing image and put the new image where it was.

If you want to add the link to one of the unused social link fields and create the image, upload it to the media library and the post the link to that image here, we can help you with it. For the image, I would suggest creating just the “grey” part and then we can put that over the lighter purple circle created by the theme.
