How can I add audio files to my post

Hi,
I added the URL of the audio file from Google Drive. The ‘audio player’ is showing but nothing plays when I hit play.
Could someone help to see what’s not being done properly? Or are there other ways to add a sound file?

Hi there, I’m not certain that it’s possible to use Google Drive for sharing embedded audio, but if it is make sure it is a public file.

Hello again, that information is for a self-hosted WordPress install, not for sites on hosted WordPressdotcom. https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Documentation for working with your WordPressdotcom site is at https://en.support.wordpress.com/
Codes like IFRAME are stripped out for security reasons https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/ and apparently not all Google docs embeds are approved https://en.support.wordpress.com/google-docs/
I’m also going to ping Staff to take note of this.
Regardless, have a look at the Audio support guide I linked to earlier for alternatives.

storiiiio – An upgrade to the business plan would give you additional options such as plugins for adding audio to your site. That’s not necessary or required though. I would continue using one of the approved options from https://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/
