How can I add buttons (i.e. “Featured On…”) to my blog?

I’m sorry if this has already been asked/answered. I searched and did not find the information I am looking for. So please don’t just leave a rude comment about how I should learn to use the search box first.
I would like to add buttons from various other blogs to the side of my blog. I know how to copy and paste it into the HTML code of the individual posts, but I would like it in the widget area so that they stay up no matter what post my viewers are looking at. How can I do this?

Hi. You can use a text widget and copy-paste the HTML code in question. Please be advised that some HTML code does not work on WordPress.com for security reasons, so please read both links:
