How can I add Google Analytic to a WordPress.com blog?

The main thing I am trying to do is add Google Analytic to help track my blog and better optimize searches. If you could assist me in how to install the tracking code without a plugin, that would be appreciated.

Hi there,
WordPress.com does not currently support Google Analytics tracking. However, we do offer built-in statistics showing you most of the same types of information as Google Analytics would display.
You can view your site’s stats by clicking the stats link in the grey admin bar at the top of your site. To find out more about how stats are measured and reported, see the following help page:
You can also install Google Webmaster Tools, which contains some of the same functions as Google Analytics:

Let me know if you have any questions with this!

Thank you, I am aware of the stats and how to read them. I am however looking for something more indepth. As Google Analytics is the current standard, I was looking o add that. Perhaps it is time for me to make the jump to WordPress.org where I have more control and can add that plugin.
