How can I add my own template to wordpress.com for wp.com blog ?

    Hi, there. As users of WordPress.com, we aren’t able to upload themes. We are limited to the themes that are available in the menu already. The ability to install themes is limited to sites that are hosted at third party web hosts using the free WordPress software available at WordPress.org.

    If user like to contribute their own design theme to WP.com and make it free to all other WP.com users, is that possible?

    so far the themes selection offer by WP.com are tonne, but those created by few of the designer tend to maintain the same style / layout of it. We need more creative theme. Any process to allow user submit a theme, and it open source for all to use like FREE them in WP.com?

    If you have a completed theme that you think should be included in the WordPress.com selection, you could always post a link to it in the Ideas form, or contact the WordPress.com team at http://support.wordpress.com/contact/

    Keep in mind that, since the theme could be used by potentially millions of users, the criteria for including a theme on WordPress.com are very strict.

    The theme should probably at least have passed the requirements for being in the Theme repository at http://wordpress.org/themes/

    Even if accepted, it would still need to be customized to account for all of the features included in WordPress.com.

    I’d suggest developing a theme and submitting it to WordPress.org (where it could be downloaded and used by anyone in the world using WordPress on their own server), and once it’s accepted there, posting here in the Ideas forum that you would like to get it included in WordPress.com.
