How can I add photos to a gallery by filename?

  I want to add photos to galleries using the name of the jpg file. In the Media Library, I can sort by filename, but I can’t figure out how then to post to a photo gallery from there. From the photo gallery, I can Add Media but then the photos in the Media Library are screened only with images, not with names, and I don’t see how I can sort them by filename. What can I do?

  Hi there,

  When you add images using the “Add Media” button to any post/page, you can find the name of the image by clicking on it. The file name will appear in the Attachment details on the right hand side of the page.

  Is there any way I can change the way the images are sorted when they appear using the “Add Media” button?

  Are you talking about before you choose the images to insert them into a gallery? If so, no – it’s just sorted in the order that they were uploaded.

  If you are talking about after you choose the images, yes – once you choose your images you can drag them around to place them however you want.
