How can I add the same size image on my blog page like the Sweet Life About page

  • Unknown's avatar

I would like to have the same size image as Sweet Life Demo About page , in the same place, at the top of my blog page – inspiration page . I have also checked the box “Full-width without header image”, but the header image is still there. Plus, It won’t accept a featured image. Thank you for your help!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Is the page you’re trying to set up like that your About page as well?

    About

It looks like the image you’ve provided is quite small, in order for your image to be the full width of the page, you’ll need to upload an image that is at least 1200px wide.

It looks like there’s a Featured Image set. Can you tell me what you mean by “It won’t accept a featured image. “?

I’d like my About page, Inspiration page, and my Sneak Peek page to all be set “Full-width without header image.” All of those pages currently display without a header image except the Inspiration page. The Inspiration page keeps the header image although the “Full-width without header image” box is checked. I don’t know if it makes a difference or not that the Inspiration page is my blog page.

I am fine with the size of the photo on the About page, however, I would like the text to start aligning along the right side of it, if possible, instead of below it. I don’t know how to do that.

As far as “it won’t accept a featured image,” when I am on my edit page I uploaded a photo from the media library and clicked on “Set featured image.” The photo shows up on the Edit page, however, when I go to preview the page (and I did update it first) it does not show up on the Inspiration page.

Thanks so much for your help! This is all new to me and an interesting learning process.

Thanks for those details! Because the page Inspiration is set as your recent posts page, the template setting will not have any affect. If you really want the header to be hidden on that page, I would suggest using some Custom CSS.

Here are some resources for learning how to find the correct CSS selectors:

I am fine with the size of the photo on the About page, however, I would like the text to start aligning along the right side of it, if possible, instead of below it. I don’t know how to do that.

You can do that by giving your image an alignment. Here’s a quick guide on doing that:

    Align Images With Text

The photo shows up on the Edit page, however, when I go to preview the page (and I did update it first) it does not show up on the Inspiration page.

This is related to what Denise was saying in your other thread. This theme does not display the Featured Image on the page. However, this image can be used by social media sites when shared.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have more questions. :)

Thank you for all the resources you have directed me to! I will look them up.

Sorry, but I don’t understand why Featured Images do not display on the pages. I understand that Sweet Life theme only displays one Header Image, but the Sweet Life Demo pages show many photographs in general throughout the website. What is an example of “the image can only be used by social media sites when shared”? Thanks!

Not all of our themes display the Featured Image in the page’s content. The demo site does have many images, but those are all images that are included in the content of the page.

As for the social media comment, if you have a Featured Image on a post, and that post is shared to Facebook, usually Facebook will display that image with the post. If there is no Featured Image, Facebook will usually display the first image in the post.

    Does that clarify things?
