How can I allow others to post on my blog/forum?
-
Hi There,
New to WordPress and was hoping for someone to give me some advice around creating a forum.
This is for a really cool idea to help those who are close to someone going through Cancer and need a little support up front.
Many thanks,
Adam. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There’s a theme called P2 Classic that’s basically a forum structure. It allows you to post things and your users to comment. If you want to allow users to add their own original posts, they have to be invited to become a user of your blog and you would assign a role to them (administrator, editor, contributor, etc.).
This is a little more restrictive than a classic forum is, but the security is tighter, which can be a blessing. Folks can’t just register themselves and start spamming your forum. I’ve run true forums before and it’s a real chore to constantly be policing the forum for spammers.
Give the theme a try and see what you think! Let us know if you need help with the “add a user” process.

You can, of course, register and host a forum somewhere else (WP is blogging software, not forum software) and link to it from your WP.com blog.
