How can I archive wordpress.com posts to transfer to a new wordpress.org website?

  Hi!
  We are creating a new website via wordpress.org,
  and we’d love to be able to transfer our archives from our blog at wordpress.com.
  How can we best do this directly?

  Note: 7. Privatize Old Site
  Once your new site is live, it’s a good idea to announce the move in a final post on your old WordPress.com site, just in case. Then, set that site to private in Settings→General.
