How can I avoid Gravatar and go right to someone's page who 'liked' my blog??

I paid for Premium service and have this web site <http://murigius-starboard.com> to display my infrequent blogs. Problem: when someone ‘likes’ my blog I click on their thumbnail below my most recent post and i’m brought to this stupid http://en.gravatar.com/veramark site. I just want to see what this woman, Vera Mark, is writing about and perhaps ‘like’ one of her blogs. While in Gravatar, I need to sign in! I’m already signed into WordPress. Why can’t it be more fluid?? What did I pay nearly $100 for? There’s no easy ‘support’ here.

And why, if I’m supposed to have premium service, do I see the button, “Ask the Community for Support”? Why can’t I ask a WP tech person instead? I really feel I wasted money here.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It would make no difference if Staff told you what I will tell you or not. The fact you have an upgrade on you blogs as I do on mine is irrelevant as we got what we paid for and nothing more or less.

Did you know that your Gravatar.com account has always been a WordPress.com account? It’s true.

It’s clear from past responses in more than one thread that Staff do not consider this to be an issue. How indeed can we prove that any Gravatar user who chooses to click a like button did that when they did not appreciate our post content? The answer is that we can’t and a WordPress.com account has always been a Gravatar account.

Bottom line:
I’m sorry but we cannot delete the individual likes others leave on our posts even those that are from obvious like button spammers. All we can do is what’s here.

You paid for this bundle of upgrades:

If you would like premium support, many people including myself provide this, starting at about $65 an hour and going way, way up.

Thanks, timethief, for your quick reply. I thought when I paid for premium service that it said it came with some tech support, but I see in the link that it didn’t…

What I find hard to believe is that WP doesn’t make it easy to communicate with people who have ‘liked’ my posts. In other social sites (FaceBook, Flickr, Tumblr) if anyone likes something, it’s easy to go to their page and see what they’re doing and possibly ‘like’ something there. But being diverted to Gravatar and seeing the person’s photo but not begin able to connect with them is frustrating. I mean, why be diverted to Gravatar at all?

And I hope you understand that I don’t want to ‘delete’ any of the likes I’ve received, but simply to communicate with these folks.
Thanks again,
Murigius

I understand what you are saying and where you are coming form. I even blogged on this more than once and from different perspectives.

Our Gravatar profile pages are meant to include blog links and it’s up to us to add them. See mine here > http://en.gravatar.com/timethief
However, many people do not post there site links or even their social networking links as is intended.

So I see there are ‘bogus followers’ who ‘like’ people’s blogs. Hmm. I guess that never occurred to me. I have so few followers … :/
Well, thanks again. I guess it’s not a perfect world, is it? (Or isn’t it?)

It’s definitely not a perfect world offline or online. There are spammers, scammers and other sycophantic parasites everywhere on this planet. That said, best wishes with your blog. :)

@timethief: I now see what you mean. I just posted a new blog with the odd name of my local restaurant, “Fat Apples”, and as soon as I posted the blog, <http://murigius-starboard.com> 2 people liked it, but what they liked was my use of the word ‘fat’. They’re pitching fat cures. Good lord….

Another question: Why, if I’ve paid for Premium WP, do I still get ads for it on my WP page? Doesn’t WP know that I’ve paid? or do they simply blanket everyone?
Thanks again,

Murigius

Yes, we all suffer through this fat cures spam likers crappola.

Why, if I’ve paid for Premium WP, do I still get ads for it on my WP page?

Don’t leap to conclusions about ads. They may be coming from a toolbar or browser addon.

All WordPress.com placed ads are easy to identify as this link accompanies them http://en.wordpress.com/about-these-ads/

Any other ads you see are not placed on the blog by WordPress.com. They are coming from a browser extension or toolbar. These sites have further explanation and suggestions for eliminating the ads: http://www.littletechiethings.com/2012/06/how-to-remove-ads-not-by-this-site.html http://blog.wikimedia.org/2012/05/14/ads-on-wikipedia-your-computer-infected-malware/ http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/09/14/bloggers-beware-of-adware/

If you use the information at the sites I linked to and still see ads please post screenshot http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/ Upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name so Staff can examine it. Then type modlook into the sidebar.
